Description
Poul Henningsen developed the PH 5 in 1958 in response to constant changes in the shape and size of incandescent bulbs, and created a lamp that could be used with any light source.
The iconic design is based on the same principles as Henningsen’s three-screen system, which ensures that the light is soft, pleasant and completely anti-glare, making it the perfect dining table lamp.
Originally, the PH 5 was equipped with red and blue screens to improve the color of the light, but these were eliminated in later designs, since modern light sources reproduce daylight much more effectively than in 1958. Available in various chromatic variants, the PH 5 is a highly acclaimed and well-known suspended lamp, found in many homes around the world.
